About Nathan Hutting

Nathan Hutting studied physical therapy at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht (the Nether-lands). After his graduation in 2003 he worked as a physical therapist and was involved in several projects investigating diabetes mellitus and physical exercise in the Netherlands between 2008 and 2013.

He studied manual therapy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium) and graduated cum laude in 2008. His graduation thesis on pre-manipulative testing of the cervical spine, resulted in 2 peer-reviewed publications in 2013.

After his graduation in 2008, he continued working as a physical therapist and manual therapist. Since December 2011, he has also been working as a researcher in occupation and health at HAN University of Applied Sciences, and as a PhD student at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center, both located in Nijmegen (the Netherlands). He is conducting a randomized controlled trial entitled: “Self-management and employability of employees with complaints of the arm, neck or shoulder”.
